Katie Hight is Almost Recess's newest member. Originally from Apex, North Carolina, Katie has enjoyed singing from an early age. She found her niche in musical theatre performing lead roles in several of her high school's shows and singing in the school's award-winning Honors Women's Chorus. Before starting college, Katie attended the prestigious Broadway Theatre Project, taking master classes and studying with esteemed Broadway performers. While attending Elon University, Katie sang as a member of the Elon Chorale and featured tap performer in the Elon Dancers' ensemble. Katie's most notable musical endeavor while at Elon was her involvement with their premier female a cappella group, Sweet Signatures. Katie provided rich alto vocals for the group and also contributed numerous arrangements for the sixteen-member ensemble. As the most recent addition, and the first-ever female to join Almost Recess, Katie is thrilled to have the opportunity to sing professionally and is excited to see where this path may lead.
